Throughout the school year, there are many opportunities for you to become actively involved. We depend on you to help out in the classrooms, serve hot lunch, drive for field trips, etc. It is a fact, that without your volunteer help, we would not be able to do many of the things that keep costs and tuition down.

To encourage sharing the work duties, we have a program called Shared Time And Resources (S.T.A.R.). It requires that each family contribute a minimum of 20 volunteer hours throughout the school year. Hours may be earned in many ways including fund-raisers, athletics, and classroom support to name a few.

We use the 'Honor System' as a way to keep track of your hours. Each family receives a STAR Hour sheet (included in the Paw Prints) and is expected to honestly record the hours worked at each event. Your sheet will be collected at the end of each semester and given to the STAR Hour Coordinator. A report will be printed up and sent home in your child's report card.

Upon registration, you will be asked to participate in the S.T.A.R. Hour Program, or pay $200.00 to the school's general fund. Our objective is to encourage greater volunteer participation, not to collect money. If you don't have a lot of time, your relatives may work in your place and credit their hours to your account.

This program has promoted a high level of parental involvement and has produced fellowship among families. It also lowers our operating costs, and helps the staff accomplish their task of educating our children. We encourage you to volunteer willingly and often. You won't regret it!
