2008-2009 SUPPLY LIST

 

RACINE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

Following is a list of supplies needed by each class.  You are responsible to replace the supplies as needed.

*NOTE:  Your child will have more success gluing, if they have a decent glue stick.  Elmers and UHU are good choices.

KINDERGARTEN

1 -  large box of Kleenex

2 -  16 count packs of crayons

      (Crayola recommended brand)

10 - glue sticks

1 -  pair of children size scissors

      (Fiskars brand recommended)

1 -  FAT writing pencil & 1 regular pencil

1 -  paint shirt with your child's name written inside

1 -  backpack for carrying home papers

1 -  small plastic pencil box to store supplies

1 -  package of washable markers - broad

      primary colors (Crayola recommended)

1 -  pink pencil eraser

12 - colored pencils - Crayola

1 -   pkg of ziploc bags (any size) for class use                       

1 -   pocket folder to keep in backpack

       for papers sent home or returned

1 -  set of water color paints - Prange or

      Crayola brand recommended

** All supplies should have your child's   name on them.

 

 

 FIRST GRADE

 

2 -  boxes crayons, 24 count

1 -  box of any number of crayons to be

      kept in their desk

4 - pink erasers

1 - children size scissors (Fiskars brand

     recommended)        

1 - pkg. of 24 #2 pencils*

      (Dixon Brand recommended)      

     Please come with about 5 sharpened 

4 - pocket folders (1 each-green, red, blue,  

     yellow)

1 - large box Kleenex

3 - big glue sticks, Elmer's or UHU

1 - set washable crayola broad markers

      (primary colors)

1 - set of watercolor paints

1 - pencil box

2 - highlighter markers

1 - box baby wipes (for quick clean ups)

*Items will be collected and used as community supplies - please label all OTHER items.

 

 

SECOND GRADE

 

1 - large box of Kleenex*

5 - pocket folders (1 each - green, red,

     blue, yellow, & 1 decorative)

2 - boxes crayons (24 count)

1 - box washable crayola broad markers

     (primary colors)              

1 - pkg. of 10 or 12 #2 pencils* (girls)

      (Dixon Brand recommended)

1 - children's scissors (Fiskars Brand)         

2 - pink erasers

10 - glue sticks*, Elmers or UHU

1 - box baby wipes (for quick clean ups)*

1 - set of 8 watercolor paints (Prange or

     Crayola brand)

1 - Elmer's school glue(white/no gel)

2 - spiral bound notebook(70 sheets/wide

     rule) (different colors)

1 - pkg wide rule notebook paper*(boys)

     NO PENCIL BOXES

THIRD GRADE

1 - box markers - broad tip

4 - pocket folders

1 - pencil box (small)

1 - pack of 100 sheets of wide-ruled,

     loose-leaf notebook paper

1 - paint shirt with name on it

2 - LARGE boxes of Kleenex

1- set of 8 watercolors

1 - pencil sharpener with cover for shavings

1 - spiral notebook

1 - pack of wet wipes for quick clean up

 

 

FOURTH GRADE

 

2 - pink erasers

1 - box crayola crayons (16-48 count)

1 - box markers, broad tip

1 - box crayola colored pencils

2 - red pens

2 - composition books

1 - pkg. of white wide ruled paper

4 - two pocket folders with fasteners

1 - Fiskar child's scissors

1 - pencil box

2 - boxes Kleenex for classroom use

2 - boxes #2 pencils

1 - ruler showing inches & centimeters

2 - glue sticks

1 - small bottle of glue

1 - set watercolors

1 - 1" 3 ring binder (Red)

1 - pack wet wipes (boys)

1 - box of Ziploc bags (girls)

Please - no trapper keepers

FIFTH GRADE

 

1 - box #2 pencils

8 - pencil top erasers

1 - pink eraser

2 - red pens

2 - black erasable pens

2 - glue sticks

5 - pocket folders

1 - set of markers, Crayola, fine, classic

1 - set of markers, Crayola, broad, classic

2 - large boxes of Kleenex

1 - notebook (wide-ruled, perforated)

1 - box of colored pencils

1 - box of crayons (24)

1 - highlighter

1 - set of watercolors

1 - scissors (preferably Fiskar)

1 - small pencil sharpener w/cover for

     shavings

1- ruler - 12in./metric

1 - pack of 4 sq. per inch graph paper

supply of wide-ruled, loose-leaf notebook paper

 

 

SIXTH GRADE

 

1 - box of pencils

4 - blue or black pens

3 - red pens

1 - bottle of white out

1 - spiral notebook - replace as needed

1 -ream of ruled paper - replace as needed

3 - 3 prong pocket folders (one each for

     English, History and Bible)

1 - composition notebook

1 - 1" hardcover 3 ring binder - Black

1 - calculator (Texas Instrument TI-36xsolar

     is used in 7th & 8th grade).  Any

     calculator will be accepted.

1 - scissors

1 - protractor/compass - needed in 4th

     quarter

1 - 3 ring binder for math

2 - boxes of Kleenex

1 - ruler with metric & inches

1- pack of Wet Wipes or Lysol Wipes

Art supplies:

2 - boxes of markers (thick & thin)

4 - black permanent sharpie markers

        (two fine point; two ultra fine point)

1 - box of crayons (32-48 count)

1 - box of colored pencils

2 - glue sticks

1 - watercolor paint set

1 - Pink Pearl eraser

container for art supplies to keep in your locker

supply of college or wide ruled paper -  replenish as needed.

1 - 3 prong two pocket folder - COLOR RED (for computers)

 

 

SEVENTH & EIGHTH GRADE

 

1 - box of crayons (32 or 48 count)

1 - scissors

1 - pkg. #2 pencils

2 - boxes of Kleenex

         (bring to homeroom teacher)

4 - blue or black pens

2 - red pens

6 - pencil top erasers

1 - large Pink Pearl eraser

1 - pkg. colored pencils

2 - boxes of crayola markers (thick & thin)

4 - black permanent Sharpie markers

     (two fine point and two ultra-fine point)

1 - highlighter pen

2 - glue sticks

1 - bottle rubber cement

1 - ruler

1 - compass

1 - protractor

1 - calculator (Texas Instrument TI-36x Solar)

7 - pocket folders

7 - notebooks (perforated, wide or thin-ruled) and ream of    

     college ruled paper.  Replace as needed!

1 - set watercolors

1 - bottle white out (I prefer white out

     pens) -  Presto pocket correction pen

    (red ones)

FOR ENGLISH:

* 2 pkgs. note cards, lined, large or small

* 1 clasp envelope (bigger than 8.5 x 11)

  Racine Public Library card

 

*Will be collected by Miss Van Groningen the first week of school.

 

FOR GYM CLASS:  (6th, 7th & 8th)

* Gym shoes

* Gym shorts and T-shirt

* Sweat suit is permissible

   Regular classroom clothes are not allowed for gym.

 

FOR COMPUTERS (New Students)

1 - 3 prong 2 pocket folder
