I was born in a small town in southern Michigan. At age 7 my family moved to a christian camp. We later moved to another small town in Michigan. I went to Three Rivers High School and graduated in 1987. I was involved in various sports and activites while in high school.

I met my wife through our church's youth group. My wife and I both attended Calvin College where we were married in 1990.

Following our graduation, we moved to Florida where I began teaching in 1993. We lived there for the next 6 years. We were thrilled with the birth of Katie and Meaghan while in Florida. With the additions to our family the distance from grandparents became too great. We decided to move back to the frigid north to get closer.

We came to Racine in 1999 and have really loved it here. We were further blessed with the birth of our third child, Alexander.

I really enjoy camping, sports, reading, and computers. I like doing various activities while spending time with my family.

I love teaching and interacting with the students. I gain so much energy from them.
